If U Seek Amy – Racy Lyrics Rock the Radio

“If U Seek Amy” Racy or Rocking
Last time this trendy mom checked the radio, media, and the rest of the world including Britney Spears weren’t responsible for raising my children. So what is up with all the hoopla around Britney Spears new single “If U Seek Amy” The Parents Television Council is warning parents about the Britney Spears song “If U Seek Amy” and urging radio stations not to broadcast it because they believe it violates the broadcast indecency law if aired between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. The Parents Television Council is livid that Britney Spears‘ cunningly titled
“If U Seek Amy” is getting radio play, despite the fact that the title and lyrics essentially say F-U-C-K Me.”
I just don’t get it. Can someone give me the low down on what in the F-U-C-K people are complaining about? If your children are between the ages of 1 – 9 like mine, it’s likely that your children don’t even catch the undertone of what is being said in Britney Spears new single “If U Seek Amy”. As for those with kid’s over the age of 9 – get serious, if you haven’t ever sworn in front of your child at this point and they have never heard you utter the word FUCK – What the F-U-C-K is wrong with you. That is right I do swear in front of my children, not often but it does happen and I am far from apologizing for it. Here’s a News Alert – even if your 9 year old wiz kid gets the under tone of the song, “If You See Amy” seize the opportunity to have an open dialog with your child and answer any questions they may have about it. Wow novel idea right? Use what happens in the media to help educate your child instead of letting someone else do it for you. Britney Spears has a tough enough time raising her own two children – don’t leave her to be your child’s moral compass. My children know that they are not to swear, but not because these are naught words but instead because they are ADULT words. Don’t get me wrong I don’t condone that my children swear but I would be an idiot to think that it will never happen and an even bigger idiot if I thought that they hadn’t heard those words on the play ground a time or 20.
Thank god that the controversy hasn’t stopped U.S. radio stations from playing “If You Seek Amy.” Six top 40 stations have the song in rotation this week, enough to place the track at No. 92 on the Billboard Pop 100 chart.
In my opinion, if you don’t like the song and you feel that the words might burst the bubble that you’re living in, then don’t allow your children to listen to it. This Trendy Tip mom and many others know that there are other things in the world much worse than Ms. Britney Spears getting her career back on track to worry about.
So listen away to Britney’s new single “If you Seek Amy” and sing aloud like I do – “All of the boys and girls are waiting to F-U-C-K me.”
PS Way to go Britney – you got them talking and I see
another #1 hit on the horizon…
