If U Seek Amy - Racy Lyrics Rock the Radio
January 24, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
“If U Seek Amy” Racy or Rocking
Last time this trendy mom checked the radio, media, and the rest of the world including Britney Spears weren’t responsible for raising my children. So what is up with all the hoopla around Britney Spears new single “If U Seek Amy” The Parents Television Council is warning parents about the Britney Spears song “If U Seek Amy” and urging radio stations not to broadcast it because they believe it violates the broadcast indecency law if aired between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. The Parents Television Council is livid that Britney Spears‘ cunningly titled
“If U Seek Amy” is getting radio play, despite the fact that the title and lyrics essentially say F-U-C-K Me.”
I just don’t get it. Can someone give me the low down on what in the F-U-C-K people are complaining about? If your children are between the ages of 1 - 9 like mine, it’s likely that your children don’t even catch the undertone of what is being said in Britney Spears new single “If U Seek Amy”. As for those with kid’s over the age of 9 – get serious, if you haven’t ever sworn in front of your child at this point and they have never heard you utter the word FUCK – What the F-U-C-K is wrong with you. That is right I do swear in front of my children, not often but it does happen and I am far from apologizing for it. Here’s a News Alert – even if your 9 year old wiz kid gets the under tone of the song, “If You See Amy” seize the opportunity to have an open dialog with your child and answer any questions they may have about it. Wow novel idea right? Use what happens in the media to help educate your child instead of letting someone else do it for you. Britney Spears has a tough enough time raising her own two children – don’t leave her to be your child’s moral compass. My children know that they are not to swear, but not because these are naught words but instead because they are ADULT words. Don’t get me wrong I don’t condone that my children swear but I would be an idiot to think that it will never happen and an even bigger idiot if I thought that they hadn’t heard those words on the play ground a time or 20.
Thank god that the controversy hasn’t stopped U.S. radio stations from playing “If You Seek Amy.” Six top 40 stations have the song in rotation this week, enough to place the track at No. 92 on the Billboard Pop 100 chart.
In my opinion, if you don’t like the song and you feel that the words might burst the bubble that you’re living in, then don’t allow your children to listen to it. This Trendy Tip mom and many others know that there are other things in the world much worse than Ms. Britney Spears getting her career back on track to worry about.
So listen away to Britney’s new single “If you Seek Amy” and sing aloud like I do – “All of the boys and girls are waiting to F-U-C-K me.”
PS Way to go Britney – you got them talking and I see
another #1 hit on the horizon…

Favorite Music Memories - What’s on your shuffle?
November 25, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
1000 Songs – Unlimited Memories
I’ve been listening to my iPod on shuffle recently and it’s been surprisingly enjoyable. With 1000’s of songs to pick from I usually always tune into the same bands and recent tunes like. Since I decided to put a little shuffle back in my life, I keep hearing music I haven’t heard in years. Weather at home or work or just driving about town doing my busy mom duties, I find myself singing out loud. (Don’t You Judge Me) I know you do it to and if you don’t, you should take a chance and shuffle your ipod like I did .
I found it amazing how music can make you remember that certain moment or time in life in such a perfect way. Kind of like how a certain smell will bring you back to a specific moment more intensely than your memory alone ever could do.
Here are a few of my Favorite Music Memories maybe they will bring you back too. What are some of your favorites Music Memories???? I’m hoping you’ll share your Favorite Music Memories with our trendy tip mom family…
NKOTB That’s right New Kids on The Block – I know pretty sick that I have these tunes on my ipod seeing as we are years past the tape deck days of the late 80’s
Snoop Dog– Rollin down the street, smoking indo, sippin’ on gin and juice Laid back(with my mind on my money and my money on my mind)
Smashing Pumpkins –Shakedown 1979, cool kids never have the time. On a live wire right up off the street You and I should meet. Takes me back to 993 the summer after my senior year in high school, Pumpkins concert when the world was simple and I wasn’t working 90 hours a week. Wow what a time in my life and what a summer to remember.
Madonna – True Blue I’ve looked into their eyes
But I never knew love before
‘Til you walked through my door
I’ve had other lips
I’ve sailed a thousand ships
But no matter where I go
You’re the one for me baby this I know, ’cause it’s
(Chorus:)
True love
You’re the one I’m dreaming of
Your heart fits me like a glove
And I’m gonna be true blue baby I love you

Celebrate Fall with a Movie - Madagascar Escape2Africa
November 9, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
What’s a more perfect way to celebrate fall and the quick approach into winter? A Sunday afternoon Movie. In the winter months my 7 yr old and I typically enjoy a weekend matinee, while my husband catches up on the Sunday Ticket (Football) It is always a great way to bond and perfect mommy and me time with my oldest daughter.
Our trendy pick of the week was Madagascar Escape2Africa. And it gets a Trendy MOM kids shoe must see..
Madagascar Escape2Africa - As usual DreamWorks does a wonderful job of making a movie that is enjoyable for kids and adults alike. All the fun and fantasy that grabs our children’s attention but at the same time troughs in some adult humor to keep the parents entertained. Filled with music, dancing, and laughter filled moments.
Alex, Marty Melman and Gloria and the whole Madagascar gang strive to head home to New York City but end up back home where it all began – Africa. These lovable characters find themselves back in the wild – where they discovers their roots, and work to determine if this beautiful place is better then the home they have grown to know in Central Park.
In the highly-anticipated sequel to “Madagascar”- was well worth the weight and we loved it.
The voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric The Entertainer, Andy Richter, Bernie Mac, Sherri Shepherd, Alec Baldwin and will.i.am. bring this star studded group of characters to life and into our hearts.
Enjoy the movie:

What do your SHOES say about you??
What do your SHOES say about you?
Calling all shoe fanatics this fun quiz is a must view.
You know the old adage that you can tell a lot about a person from what is in the medicine cabinet. Well I think the perfect way to get a sense of a person’s personality is to take a good look at their shoes.
What do your shoes say about you??? I couldn’t wait to see if the results were on and they were.
Looks like I am: Impulsive – I’ve got a good head on my shoulders (why

What they don’t always turn to me for is…well…fun. Sounds like I need to kick off my shoes a little more and let loose…

Another Cinderella Story - with a twist
October 19, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
The cast makes this an easy to watch family film perfect for a Friday movie night.
Mary (Selena Gomez) is a high school senior filled with dreams of auditioning for the Manhattan Dance Academy. Working hard to achieve her dream while balancing slaving away for her guardian a washed up pop singer and her twin daughters. That is until the magical night where she meets the unexpected man of her dreams -Teen pop star Joey Parker (Andrew Seeley). The two meet at a masked ball where Mary’s identity is unrevealed leaving Joey clamoring to find out who the girl of his dreams truly is.
A match made to enchant us all Joey searches to find out who his true Cinderella is. Not an easy task when every girl in school is clamoring at the chance to grab Joey’s attention, including Britt and Bree.
Unlike most Cinderella stories this great flick doesn’t leave the big reveal until the end of the movie but instead keeps your attention which silly antics, plans to split the adorable pair up and great dance scenes.
OK parents lets get real there are tons of cheesy moments but it isn’t all bad.
Without giving away too much, the move is fun and enchanting and some of the unconventional elements make “Another Cinderella Story” well worth a view. If you have a tween this movie is a Trendy Mom Kid Shoe

The Dark Night - Shows off a Shinning Star
September 30, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
The Dark Knight – shows off a shining star..
The Bat Man Comic book turned popular thriller strikes again. The Dark Knight hit the mark for me and my hubby. We were of course in suspense like most to see Heath Ledger in
his final film, and we weren’t disappointed.
After the other Bat Man movies I wasn’t convinced that this was going to be on my must rent list, but here we are and The Dark Knight totally gets a Classic Black Heel
recommendation, from this Trendy Tip Mom.
The Dark Knight is best in the series by far.
Bat Man - The Dark Knight surpassed my expectations for the typical sequel to Batman Begins. Christian Bale (Batman) and Maggie Gyllenhall (Rachel Dawes) were good, but completely left in the dark shadowed of Heath Ledger who had an exceptional performance. His performance encompassed, sick, evil and homicidal what a perfect combo. Ledgers impeccable portrayal of The Joker was top notch and blew me away.
This Scary-funny performance is a Trendy Tip must see!!

The days of Superheroes are back and IRON MAN is leading the Pack!!

The days of Superheroes are back and IRON MAN is leading the pack.
WOW is all I have to say. For those of you who forgot about Robert Downey Jr. Watch out he is back and better then ever in Iron Man. The movie surprised me. As I headed in, more to appease my hubby for a date night out, I was surprised to find that I LOVED the movie. Iron Man is ideal for any audience the movie was the perfect length and had something for everyone. The story line for Iron Man was strong and it didn’t hurt that Gwyneth Paltro (the adoring assistant) and Downey (the Billionaire playboy) had great on screen chemistry.
With the competition of Bat Man and Spider Man looming, who knew that the long forgotten IRON MAN would swoop in and save the name of Super Hero movies. The story line is simple but explosive. Iron Man is filled with Action, Comedy and a little bit of Attitude which was the perfect combination.
Not to give too much away, the main character played by Downey is a billionaire playboy owner of Stark Industries, one of the biggest military weapon producers. Basically he is kidnapped by terrorists and after his experiences he chooses to use his angst to do right and change the vision of the company his father founded.
Energy, Heroism, Technology, Thrills pack this film.
Iron Man is a must watch date movie that has something for you and your partner to enjoy. TRENDY TIP MUST SEE
“Iron Man”, is a Red Hot Heel Recommendation!!

“Sex and The City” - Fabulous Trendy Tip Movie Pick
September 29, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
Sex, Love, & Friendship all the things we look for in life and love in a good movie.
Though long awaited the Sex and The City movie was like the ongoing sequel to the popular series.
Just like we watched it weekly in years past our Girls group headed out for cosmos and a full day dedicated to “Sex and the City”
Ready to be brought to out loud laughter and tears & back into the lives of those 4 characters we grew to love, we were hooked at the first scene
As usual we were captivated by the shoes & fabulous fashion that fill the scene as Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha drew us back into their Sex and the City world.
Sex and the City the move was still filled with all the sarcasm and cynicism and of course the happy endings we find ourselves quoting and waiting for more of. Like catching up with old friends we were caught up in no time and begging for more.
Weather you were a loyal Sex and the City fan or just out for a good chick flick, you won’t be disappointed.
This film was a great combo that not only had the ability to pull us loyal fans back into the lives of these 4 New York Fashioneesta’s but still easily pulled in brand new viewers without leaving them feeling lost by the simple story line.
If you want sex, fashion, and comedy wrapped up in a stylish package, Sex and the City is your perfect Friday night movie.
“Sex in the City”, is a Red Hot
Heel Recommendation!!
